Technology has always been a passion to me. Growing up, I’ve always loved technology and electronics aspiring to be an Engineer. This was my first life goal which I pursued and put all my effort into. I graduated in 2003 with BSc. Degree in Engineering specialising in telecomm and electronics. With passion about IT and computers, I joined a consultancy firm to build a professional career in designing, implementing and supporting IT systems in multiple industries with multiple customers. This experience helped me to build an amazing wealth of technical and customer management experience, but I always felt that something was missing. After working for 5 years in the market, I joined Vodafone Egypt (Egypt’s top employer) in July 2008 which has been another milestone for my professional career progression.
Working for Vodafone has added a lot to my business orientation and customer obsession. It is an environment designed to help you succeed (HR policies, training programmes, processes and tools), and a very successful business providing value add services to customers.
Dedication, hard work, consistent exceptional performance and support from everyone has helped me through my technical career progression, with 3 promotions and wider scope with multiple recognition awards (Best in class, Global Hero).
Vodafone supports, encourages and drives talent by creating opportunities across different entities and even different countries. In July 2015, I successfully managed to make a huge career step by moving to Vodafone Group and relocating to UK in a more complex role. Within this role I need to build on my technical knowledge and expand my business and commercial skills as Service Delivery Manager.
Moving to a new country with new role is a very daunting decision but with the support I received from international mobility, HR, management and my team it has made it as smooth as it could be.
Two years of hard work, working under pressure and working in a very dynamic work environment could have potentially impacted my personal and work life. But with Vodafone having a very welcoming, inclusive, diverse and supportive environment; I managed to move to next career step by being promoted to Principle Service Delivery Manager which continues to challenge me and is a much more complex role.
I am looking forward to the next challenge with a world full of opportunities. Vodafoner and Proud.
