“The Smartphone is going to change the world”
was one of the very early things I was told when I joined Vodafone, and 10 years after joining Vodafone on a graduate scheme I can certainly say that has been the case!
In that time I have experienced a range of roles within our Enterprise business, from travelling across Europe supporting some of our leading international customers to managing large UK FTSE customers, running the Mid-Market customer channel nationally through to today where I lead one of our Enterprise Regions being responsible for all Public Sector and Private customers in the East & East Midlands.
One day I can be working with a local health service delivering care in the community or a council combatting fly tipping and then the next with a fast growing SME business or a leading digital retailer which means every day is different and I am fortunate to get the opportunity to learn a huge amount on a daily basis.
I now lead a team of 40+ colleagues and it gives me the opportunity to act and operate as the MD of my own business but with the support of literally thousands of colleagues across the Vodafone business to deliver for our customers. Our purpose is simple; ‘To inspire all of Vodafone to help our customers build better businesses’
One of the things I am most proud of is having started in a front line customer facing role and to have then progressed within the business, it taught me a huge amount about what our customers need and expect from Vodafone and allows me to look at every situation through the eyes of our customers on a daily basis. I use this as my personal anchor to help manage even the biggest challenges the role may throw at me.
On a personal level I have won a trip of a lifetime to Rio with my wife as part of the Premier Club competition, I am an ambassador for the Men Advocating Real Change (MARC) programme working on how we improve gender diversity and inclusion within the business and have also been able to raise thousands of pounds for charities I support with match funding provided by Vodafone.
Looking back it’s been a whirlwind 10 years & I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
But whatever it is, I’m Ready!
