Role purpose:

Vodafone Group R&D develop industry standards that underpin communication technologies such as 4G and 5G, and lead on major new technology initiatives that have strategic implications for Vodafone. The role holder will represent Vodafone at international forum related to the use of use of radio spectrum and support the development of new strategic technologies.

With us you will:
  • Represent Vodafone in international discussion forum such as the NGMN, 5GAA, and 5GACIA in order to support the ecosystem development of new products based on 5G capabilities
  • Represent Vodafone in spectrum discussions including those within CEPT and ITU
  • To engage with early stage, and start-up businesses, in order to review and identify technology opportunities for Vodafone
  • Lead engagement with external academic and industry partners to direct research and thedevelopment of strategic technologies. 
Apply if you have: 
  • A record of outstanding academic achievement and industry experience
  • A strong knowledge in the field of 5G System Design Aspects including Radio and Core Network
  • Evidence of project leadership that demonstrates collaboration between industry and academia
  • A solid understanding of latest developments in 5G standardisation including 3GPP and international organisations such as ITU
  • A record of applied research in telecoms with example areas including
    • Radio Design
    • Spectrum Policy
    • Satellite Technologies
