Our Team:

 

The Enterprise IT Delivery department caters to IT/IS needs of vertical business units in Vodafone Group Enterprise that include Vodafone Global Enterprise, Vodafone Carrier Services, Internet of Things, and Cloud & Security Services, Unified Comms and Connectivity, each with their own portfolio of products and services, and relevant business functions in Group Technology. The function also builds re-usable assets that cater to the IT/IS needs of Enterprise Business Units in a number of Vodafone Local Markets. 

 

Your role:

 

To support key strategic growth areas, Enterprise IT require a highly capable and experienced ‘DATA Technical Architect EA’ to lead the Application Architecture and design for all the data domain. The role will be accountable for the design and architecture of solutions within the data domain. This role includes building the technology roadmaps for our different technology components and selecting new ones. The individual should have a good understanding of technologies supporting BI, Big data and analytics.  

 

Role purpose:

   

To be accountable for managing the design for a diverse range of transformation and tactical initiatives across Enterprise Business Units in Group and participating Local Markets in relation to this domain. Architecture domains under consideration will include Application, Data, and Security working alongside Business and Technology (Network Architecture, IT Infrastructure). 

   

Impact on the Business 
  • Deliver innovative and pragmatic IT Architectures in line with business needs for the Data domain 

  • Demonstrate the capability to operate at all levels of seniority and create compelling communications that meet the disparate needs of the stakeholder groups, underpinned by solid methodology based/structured approach that yields up tangible architectural artefacts and deliverables. 

  • Participate in the execution of Architectural Governance across the relevant stakeholders and participating Vodafone organisations 

  • Support the early life definition of Programmes and Projects including shaping and definition of scope, and input into Business Cases e.g. Estimation, Impact Analysis etc. 

The role will also include direct involvement in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology within the enterprise. 

   

Apply if you have:
  • Knowledge of any of the following tools: Hadoop, Amazon Redshift Spectrum, Qlik, Kafka, Talend, Ab initio, Informatica, Spark, Python, Neo4J, R, MongoDB 

  • Capability to articulate and define complex architectures in a simple way to stakeholders underpinned by a structured analytical approach and high quality architectural artefacts and deliverables. 

  • Ability to translate Business Needs into IT Architecture design; estimate the financial impact of architectural alternatives.  

We’re happy if you:
  • Have experience working in a mature Dev Ops data domain 

  • Experience with data modelling tools such as Sparx Systems, ER Studio etc  

  • Experience with managing third parties required to participate in the definition of architectures, ensuring continuity of design with all internal aspects 

  • Persists when faced with resistance and convinces other colleagues of a point of view. Anticipates objections, builds on other people’s ideas, and improves service standards 

  • Knowledge of the telecommunication market
