About the role

This role is to provide project security assurance work to internal Vodafone projects focussing on the Vodafone Mobile Core systems. You will work with project teams to ensure their solutions comply with internal security policies, standards and the security architecture. The role requires a recent hands-on background with a wide range of security, network and/or IT technologies. You will also provide technical advice and guidance to Technology Security Specialists and Analysts.

Key functions of this role are to:
  • Provide project security guidance, design input and design review
  • Review and approve end to end connectivity across Vodafone networks
  • Specify security testing, and ensure that identified vulnerabilities are remediated
  • Identify security risks, and ensure that these are managed effectively
  • Apply subject matter expertise to secure our networks, products and services
  • Ensure project designs comply with Baseline Security Requirements and security policy
  • Ensure that projects integrate with security baseline controls such as IPS/IDS, WAF, Firewall Change Management, Identity & Access Management, SIEM and Vulnerability Management
  • Ensure internal customers, external suppliers and delivery partners are aware of security standards and future strategy to influence development roadmaps
  • Identify security risks, manage them with key stakeholders, and provide recommendations for risk mitigation
  • Build relationships with your stakeholder community across the Vodafone business
  • Escalate deviations from baseline security requirements and security architecture
  • Provide advice and guidance to Security Specialists and Analysts
Key skills and experience:
  • Competent in assessing information security risks introduced by new technologies and changes to existing environments
  • Competent in the design and engineering of technical security controls supporting large scale telecommunications networks
  • Competent in technical controls to mitigate and limit exposure to information security risks in technology platforms
  • Understanding of information security risk management frameworks
  • Able to keep abreast of trends in cyber security threat landscape
  • Able to keep abreast of technology trends
  • Competent in testing procedures to measure security threats and vulnerabilities in technology platforms
  • a good knowledge of networking including mobile access & core networking systems
