The Solution Designer (SD) role is to be the a key member of the team designing and delivering end to end technical and service solution for multinational customers . The role will be responsible for working with Presales and directly with customers in order to design, document and agree solutions to be offered to customers.
The SD will be responsible for writing low level design designs for new solutions and making amendments to existing designs for the customer. The SD but will also work with the Sales account team to identify new opportunities to deploy VGE solutions within the customers.
The SD will work closely with other members of the Vodafone and Customer team, including: the technical community, Projects & Programmes, Service and Commercial managers, to ensure that the solution deployed is fit for purpose and can be readily deployed and operated by Vodafone.
A Customer facing role with a high exposure to the customer, spending some time on Customer site. An opportunity to grow existing technical competence and work on one of Vodafone’s key accounts.
Work with the agreed proposal/HLD further derive requirements, and design complex and custom solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Identify and document any risks to the solution
Document solution in Low level design responses, proposals and Statement of Works
Ensure solutions are deliverable in timeframes committed and have passed all appropriate solution governance. Solutions should be scalable, repeatable, and utilizing existing standard services as much as possible.
- Ability to agree designs with internal stakeholders and senior technical customer personnel
- Interpersonal skills and teamwork with multinational teams.
- Analytical and critical thinking
- Detail orientation, operates with precision
- Ability to both influence, and show resolve under pressure from both customers and internal stakeholders to ensure solution designs are deliverable
- Relevant higher education in a related field or equivalent experience
- Must have core expertise in designing or implementing complex solutions in one or more of the following areas::
- IP Networking (WAN & LAN)
- Unified Comms including IPT, Contact Centres, IM, Email and Video Conferencing
- Security solutions
- Secure and accredited network
- Experience with IT Managed Services desired, preferably with ITIL, eTOM or TOGAF experience
- 5+ years experience in dealing with large corporate customers in a design or operational / technical implementation environment.
