Role Profile

As part of the content partnering team, the Software Engineering Architect will be responsible for defining the software architecture of services and platforms including existing platforms, new components and microservices, API Gateways for 1st and 3rd Party, as well as non-functional capabilities such as deployment and reporting, in line with architecture standards and security best processes.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

  • Define reference technologies to be used as part of technology “paved way” to speed up delivery and ensure operability
  • Propose technologies and supporting tools for key areas such as frontend web, backend service, deployment stack, etc

  • Create useable prototypes of selected technologies
  • Work on first “industrialization” of selected technologies

  • Serve as SME for technology knowledge
  • Deep knowledge of software development and delivery within Agile environment
  • Wide experience of technology areas including front-end web, server-side development, devops

  • Agile software development tools and processes including continuous integration / deployment

  • Cloud expertise (AWS-preferred, but Azure welcome)

  • Degree qualified, ideally in a Business administration discipline or equivalent experience

  • Software development experience

  • Solution Design

  • Hands-on experience debugging integration issues
