You will be accountable for selecting the appropriate technology solutions through formal RFQ process including E2E commercials. In addition you will define and lead the implementation of the required operate models within both Vodafone Business and third parties to provide the required E2E business service that is laid out within the product strategy and roadmap, covering both operational SLAs and commercial performance. The role is accountable for the delivery of the E2E technology solution, across networks and IT, within the defined budget and time committed at project initiation.
The role holder will be expected to stakeholder manage across multiple areas, most notably into solution vendors, Product management, Market sales organisation, Customer Commercial teams, internal network CoEs and across the wider Enterprise technology domain including IT and build functions. You will regularly present to the heads of key stakeholders as required to garner support or upsell the capability we have on offer.
The development team will input to the creation of product feature requirements for developments working jointly with the associated product managers. You will then translate these lower level product/platform/operating model requirements into solutions and map them to vendor products or developments needed to address any gaps identified.
The Development team also have accountability for the technology lifecycle, ensuring that the solution is always on the appropriate SW and HW revision and security requirements are regularly validated and addressed. This also includes regular operational performance reviews with vendors and internal teams who are linked to the products. The senior manager is also accountable as a last line of escalation for customer faults and vendor escalations to ensure that customer product issues are addressed as quickly and effectively as possible through the strong vendor relationships that exist.
The market and products in this space are developing fast and as such being closely aligned with the sales organisation and its customers is key. Therefore, a key role of the Senior manager is to support the sales organisation in complex customer bids where bid requirements need verification against product capabilities or supporting directly with solution teams in the creation and validation of bespoke opportunities. Some of the successful bids may then fall to the Senior manager to develop solutions and operate models, providing these back to account teams to operate. As such experience of customer pre-sales and complex development is essential
The core technical focus of the role is the expansion of connectivity products into an edge compute model, the movement of physical to virtual SDWAN components and the creation of a customer VNF ecosystem to be deployed on both customer uCPE, edge compute and also public cloud.
Core technical accountabilities will include the design, development and delivery of both the uCPE and MANO domain, Virtual PoP infrastructure and onboarding of virtual functions, including lifecycle and automation.
The successful candidate will ideally have knowledge or experience of SW or HW development, IP networking, public cloud solutions, NFV MANO as well as a proven technology leader able to demonstrate both technical leadership but also able to influence key peer and senior stakeholders
