Our Team:

The Big Data team reach over 420 million customers, all with unique behaviours and experiences and have a tremendous amount of data that is generated every single second in our network. This means that we have a vast body of rich information, which if unlocked, can lead to something very special. This role will also work across our Partner Markets team. Currently we have Partners in over 45 countries across five regions: Europe, Americas, Africa, Asia Pacific and Middle East, Russia, CIS & Poland. We believe in creating competitive advantage for all Partners on the principle of ‘Great alone, better together’.

 

As the Senior Data and AI manager, Partner Markets you will define, develop and deliver Partner Markets’ Big Data and AI product offerings in order to maximise revenues, and drive engagement and business impact in our Partner Markets.  

 

Your role is to forge strong effective relationships internally between Partner Markets and the group Data & AI team, and externally between relevant Partners and Vodafone.

Partner related key responsibilities
  • Set the strategic vision for Big Data and AI offerings to partner markets, building and scaling a suite of profitable products that deliver value-add and deepen relationships with Partners.

  • Develop engagement opportunities with Partners using a solutions selling approach, and propose solutions for Partners that can be commercialised and delivered.

  • Drive incremental revenue for partners, and for Vodafone, by delivering Data and AI engagements and projects within our partner markets.

  • Increase engagement with relevant stakeholders within the partner markets through delivery of webinars and events focused on Data and AI.

  • Use market knowledge and internal network to identify future Data and AI Partnering opportunities.
  • Develop and provide partners with expertise, best practice, and hands-on data science expertise for Use Cases.
 
Vodafone related key responsibilities
  • Help to define the strategic direction and priorities and help identify new revenue streams for Partner Markets from Data & AI products and partnerships.

  • Ensure continuous strong alignment between Partner Markets and Big Data Analytics at Group and OpCo.

  • Identify and define new Data & AI products for Partner Markets

  • Create the final business case and value measurements, including resourcing requirements agreed delivery methodology

  • Contribute to the internal Data and AI community and visibility with events & community activities for partner markets
  • Work in partnership with the Vodafone Big Data team on documentation and packaging knowledge sharing on Use Case planning, coordination, and documentation of pilots, test cases, standards, best practices, blueprints successes and failures.

  • Deep Big Data, Data Analytics, AI & automation knowledge and experience

  • Ability for effective networking at ‘Head of’ level and above within Vodafone and Partners and ability to quickly establish trust and credibility with senior stakeholders – internally and externally

  • Appetite and ability for innovation, with proven experience building new capabilities

  • Strong communication and decision making skills – ability to balance conflicting interests

  • Ability to work within an international and distributed team
  • Ability to quickly establish trust and credibility with senior stakeholders – internally and externally

  • Proven track record of programme management, overseeing successful delivery of on-time and on-budget delivery of multiple projects / initiatives within an agile work environment

 
Technical Qualifications
  • Understanding of Big Data Analytics from a Commercial and Technology perspective, including knowledge of tools (e.g., Python, Spark, Hadoop / Cloudera stack of tools) and techniques (e.g., machine learning algorithms)

  • Experience in strategic consulting, data analytics, market research, customer knowledge, or related industries with substantial internal and/or external consulting experience

  • Deep understanding of Use Case planning and documentation: what business problem, what data sources, what models, with what impact

  • Hands-on execution of data science projects, drawing upon code libraries, Use Case blueprints, and technical knowledge of data science and machine learning tools and techniques
