Role purpose: 

The Mass segment is the largest population of people in the UK and presents a major opportunity in the mobile market for sales revenue growth through transformation of the digital customer experience and propositions. The Mass Segment and PrePay team are focussed on defending and growing Vodafone’s share by bringing to market innovative, digitally oriented propositions and customer experience that meet the needs of our priority customer segments whilst defending our traditional PrePay customer base and revenues.

The Mass Segment Marketing Manager is responsible for driving overall segment performance and P&L for Mass Market customers (PrePay and Vodafone Basics Digital) and the development and implementation of our proposition and product strategy. This includes defining key customer and market insights, designing, developing and launching propositions, initiatives and campaigns, managing performance (commercial and operational), providing best-in-class online customer experience and building digital first capabilities,whilst constantly optimising customer journeys to maximise conversion. They will be responsible for Mass Market/PrePay NPS as well as their impact on Brand Consideration.

The Mass Segment Marketing Manager will also lead and direct a team of product, pricing and trading manager, and a wider matrix team including digital enablers, to deliver the overall strategy for the Segment. Adopting the principles of Agile, the Mass Segment Marketing Manager is also expected to be a role model and inspire the team to drive digital innovation right at the heart of the strategy.

Key accountabilities:
  • Define and drive the Mass segment & PrePay product strategy for Vodafone UK – including defining the customer insights, target audience and market opportunities, proposition initiatives and customer experience which will differentiate Vodafone from the competition and grow our NPS, Brand consideration and market share
  • Manage the overall proposition and product roadmap, including driving key investment and prioritisation choices with wider business stake holders
  • Shape, build and deliver successful go-to-market plans to launch new products & propositions
  • Own and drive commercial performance and support weekly trading activity - capitalising on emerging opportunities, understanding and responding to competitive activity in collaboration with sales channels and trading teams
  • Work closely with eCommerce teams to improve digital sales performance incl. funnel optimisation
  • Own and optimise end to end customer journey towards customer needs including a strong digital first mindset for any new enhancements
  • Work closely with Brand & Media teams to manage marketing and advertising plans, incl. strategy, budget management, media-mix & performance
  • Manage stratetgic and business planning/roadmap for stakeholders and key decisions 
Core competencies, knowledge and experience: 
  • Thorough understanding of the UK PrePay Market and/or Online Subscription services
  • Experience in developing, designing and and delivering insight led commercial product launches
  • Track record of driving commercial performance for a product/proposition and P&L management
  • Track record of driving digital sales performance and improving digital customer experience
  • Experience working in Agile
  • Track record of shaping and implementing a go-to-market product launch including working with a range of sales and marketing channels
  • Proven track record of managing complex roadmaps, associated budgets and related resources
  • Proven solid judgement, decision making and commercial acumen
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, influencing skills and stakeholder management, up to Director level
  • Strategic and business planning experience
