Role Title: Privacy Data Scientist
Location: London, Paddington

Working to protect the privacy of more than 500 million Vodafone customers and employees, Vodafone Group Privacy team, a function under Vodafone Group Legal, oversees Vodafone’s global Privacy Programme and ensures its implementation within Vodafone Group. We are seeking a talented individual with solid understanding of Data Science and technologies to join our exciting privacy function. You will be expected to understand the landscape of data rich platforms while solving concrete problems and help business achieve their objectives while protecting privacy and maintaining our ethical principles.

-Work at the intersection between Data Science, Analytics, AI, Engineering, Privacy and Data Ethics.
-Work on developing and operating scalable, repeatable and innovative solutions to privacy problems in particular in areas relating to Analytics, AI and Data Ethics.

You will support our Privacy by Design and Assurance processes across a range of data processing activities and on any day you will be involved in a variety of projects such as:
-Working on cloud based infrastructure, analytics and AI projects and with data architecture teams to ensure personal data is protected and governed while maintaining the value of data;
-Review analytics and AI projects to ensure our privacy and data ethics commitment are upheld;
-Work with cryptographers and other similar experts to create models for measurable privacy, develop our approaches on differential privacy, pseudonymisation and anonymisation; 
-Help improve the automation of privacy and data ethics related decision-making across the business;
-Conduct deep-dive exploratory analysis to inform strategic decision-making;
-Help shape company policies and external positions in the area of data science, analytics and AI;
-Work closely with our data governance programme and help manage our core data models, data set mapping and data management tools;
-Support regular Policy Compliance Reviews that verify compliance with Vodafone Privacy Risk Control framework.
-Create and publish data sets and prepare insightful reports and dashboard;

Apply if you have:
-2+ years’ commercial experience, working within a business where you have managed to get models into production that have had a fundamental impact.
-Experience of On-prem and cloud architectures (AWS & GCP), Big Data, AI & Blockchain
-Appreciation of the global privacy landscape in technology and online businesses;
-Worked on data ethics initiatives
-Experience in handling structured as well as unstructured data
-A scientific mentality with the ability to ask the right questions, as well as answer them
-A strong numerical higher degree in a mathematical, scientific, engineering or computer science discipline
-Solid understanding of statistical and computing principles
-Experience in one or more of the following fields: predictive modelling, machine learning, productionising models
