In this specialised role, the Security Manager will focus on the delivery of security obligations for key UK Government contracts, commercial customers and for Vodafone.  Working collaboratively with multi-disciplined, cross functional Vodafone teams, as well as providing oversight, supervision, and governance of our strategic partners.


The Security Manager will use their highly technical background and significant expertise in the Security industry to ensure compliance with regulatory, Vodafone and customer security requirements. Responsibilities will also include ensuring that our strategic partners meet and maintain relevant security standards and accreditations. The Security Manager is responsible for providing audit and ITHC governance, liaising with Vodafone UK teams and our strategic partners to ensure that tests are carried out regularly, and findings resolved in a timely and appropriate manner.  


Advocating security within Vodafone, the Security Manager will provide security leadership, advice, and guidance to the relevant internal functions, both technical and non-technical and will have the ability to communicate highly complex information in an audience appropriate format. The Security Manager will support the definition and group adoption of security standards and cyber security frameworks within the business. By supporting security assurance and liaising with Security Compliance teams in Vodafone and our strategic partner organisation the Security Manager will ensure a consolidated approach to meeting Vodafone’s contractual obligations.

With us you will:
  • Minimum 5 years security management experience with at least 3 years personally delivering security advice and guidance to clients

  • Confident communicator, able to represent Vodafone on security assurance matters of a technical nature with a high level of credibility. Equally able to translate highly technical information into accessible language.

  • Demonstrable in-depth experience of delivering against security obligations in at least 2 of the following markets:

    • Public Sector
    • Cloud & Hosting
    • Telecommunications
    • Financial
    • Energy
    • Utilities
  • Must own, champion, and proactively deliver against contractual obligations, providing regular robust reporting on security workload, risks and issues and driving progress against any mitigating actions

  • Willing and able to travel to customer and internal Vodafone sites across the UK

Apply if you have:
  • SANS qualifications such as GSNA

  • ISO27001 Lead Auditor or Implementer

  • CESG Certified Professional (Senior/Lead)
