The Role


To manage all End-to-End product & innovation test, lab environments & assurance activities for Enterprise MPN and Edge Computing products, platforms and solutions

  • Manage End-to-End Test, Lab and Environments Strategy, Planning & Validation for Product Development, In-life network changes, Innovation, Proof of Concepts and Customer Demos across MPN Practice
  • Ensure Testing activities embrace Agile methodology and leverage test automation tools and techniques to progressive transform the lab and testing capability.
  • MPN include agile projects considered as Learns & Pilots that drive disruptive ideas across the organization. Based on the learnings of these initiatives the MPN Platform will incorporate the idea as a capability / feature to scale or introduce a new test & learn.
  • Work with development, suppliers, business, security, operations and program management teams to certify production releases by providing appropriate test coverage and identifying and mitigating associated risks
  • Collaborate and develop relationships with other technologists/lab owners by partnering, integrating and sharing
     

With us you will:

  • Manage all End-to-End product & innovation testing, lab environments & assurance activities for Enterprise MPN products, platforms and solutions
  • Manage Product Acceptance / Sign-off as part of New Product Development Process and Innovation Initiatives. Accountable to business and handover to Operations if applicable.
  • Manage relationships with service suppliers enabling and challenging them to deliver more for less and renegotiating service levels/pricing as appropriate.
  • Develop/Adapt tools and processes to maximize effectiveness and to efficiently meet or exceed expectations focus in agile, automation and test data management.
  • Ensure adequate project management for the above scope and keep stakeholder informed timely and proactively by creating digital dashboards/reports and specific touch point forums.

 

Apply if you have:

  • Experience  in Product / IT development, leading test activities for large enterprise products and solutions, with subject matter expertise in some/all of the following:
  • Knowledge of Mobile Network technologies (LTE onwards)
  • Experience in IP networking, including MPLS, VLAN
  • Virtualised computing platforms, including VMWare
  • Linux knowledge
  • Cloud environments working experience
  • API and microservices based applications and platforms testing
  • IT support systems & tools (particularly Provisioning, Billing and Reporting systems)
  • IoT Connectivity, Industrial IoT platforms and Devices Testing
  • Experience in working/set up Certification Labs.
  • Project Management and Technical Understanding to organise testing and lab planning.
  • Effective at communicating technical information both in detail to fellow engineers, and through Technical presentations and report writing, particularly adept at communicating complex technical information in an easy to comprehend manner.
  • Detailed budgeting and forecasting experience

During the lockdown, we continued to hire across the globe. We’ve continued to conduct interviews and we’ve continued to welcome new members into our teams. But this time it’s virtual.  Since the start of lockdown our digital journeys have been accelerated. We have welcomed over 345 new joiners in Vodafone Group-UK, alone. Our face-to-face interviews have moved to Skype and although many of our assessments were already online, more focus has gone into upskilling recruiters and improving the virtual assessment experience.  A lot has changed. Not just for our recruiting teams, but for our new joiners as well. Imagine joining a company without physically meeting anyone. Without ever stepping foot in your office. This has been the reality for many employees around the world. As we went into lockdown, we asked our new joiners to document their experience of joining a company virtually. We wanted to hear the truth about their excitement and concern in these uncertain times, and it’s been great to see from their video logs, that the experience has been positive.  This is how we #StayConnected while we #StayHome. In order to accommodate our new virtual lives, all of our new joiners are now invited to a virtual-induction which is spread out over the first week. They receive their IT equipment before day one, with clear guidance on how to set it up, and are involved in a week full of various activities and sessions to help them get started, feel included and get to know Vodafone better. Our employees have been inventing new ways to continue regular work-life, from home. From virtual cafés to surprise birthday cake deliveries. There are some perks to working from home. Like popping to your favourite bakery in between meetings or soaking up some well-needed vitamin D on a beautiful day. In many ways, these uninvited circumstances have brought us together in ways we didn’t expect. The level of exposure to projects and opportunities that I have experienced in my first year at Vodafone I believe is not something you would find anywhere else.  by Chloe Bruce  Hi I’m Chloe and I am a Data Analyst Apprentice working in the BI and Data Visualization team in Group Technology. Having received offers to study Business Accounting at university following the completion of my A-Levels, I decided an apprenticeship was a more suitable route for me. The opportunity for career progression whilst studying at the same time is what drove my decision. Before joining Vodafone, I was accepted onto a school leaver programme working in an audit role for a year and a half, at which point I decided it was not for me. Living locally to the Newbury HQ, I always had the desire to work for Vodafone given their reputation as a large corporate company. More specifically I have always wanted to work in the technology space due to its dynamic and innovative environment. When the opportunity came up to join the Data Analyst Apprenticeship programme here at Vodafone I thought it was one I couldn’t pass up.Compared to my previous experiences the culture and work life balance at Vodafone is unparalleled. Having to balance studying towards a Digital and Technology Solutions degree and my everyday role within my team at Vodafone, something quite daunting, has been made easy for me. My team have been very supportive and proactive in helping me to be successful on this apprenticeship programme. I used to play woman’s football at a semi-professional level something that I gave up due to previous work commitments, however since joining Vodafone this is something I have considered getting back into, as the work life balance here would allow me to commit to both. So far I am most proud of my work and contribution to the Data Quality Project. It has given me the opportunity to understand the benefits and business requirements of the project, right through to the implementation of the solution to our local markets. The level of exposure to projects and opportunities that I have experienced in my first year at Vodafone I believe is not something you would find anywhere else.

Chloe Mulligan joined Vodafone as a Project Coordinator within Project & Programmes and quickly gained a wide range of experience while working on different programmes and managing bespoke and complex elements of delivery. Having already gained a Project Management degree and relevant experience within a previous telco, Chloe had big aspirations to progress along the Professional Services career path. With the guidance of a super mentor, and support from experienced colleagues, Chloe was able to learn, experience, gather feedback and improve in the role. Her drive for progression led to a promotion to Project Specialist, where she began to cement her key learnings and most recently, Chloe’s further promotion to Project Manager.Chloe’s approach has been to never sit still or become too comfortable, she always challenged herself to improve the customer experience, delivery process, or work on revenue opportunities. Here at Vodafone, we’re passionate about allowing our employees to continuously learn and develop and Chloe has taken full advantage of that and its inspiring to see.  Just get stuck in, be inquisitive and come to the table with solutions.
