What’s the role?

 

As an IT Operation Authority you will work within one of the most progressive areas of Vodafone. In this role you will work within a dynamic team of 9 Operations Authorities based in Newbury.  As IT Operation Authority you will be responsible for the overall reliability and availability of the fixed Business support systems – applications and entire Cable and Wireless technology stack

 

In this role you will be the owner of the IT solutions for the complex business area, covering many areas of responsibilities. Due to the nature of this role you will be required to work as part of an ‘on-call’ rota of 1 week in 6, this is suitability compensated.

 

In addition, you will be required to:

  • Take full responsibility the solution including – Cost, Strategy, operational stability, governance and continuous improvement.
  • Drive forward Automation and Digitisation.
  • Capacity planning.
  • Recognise and the impact on the customer and the Vodafone Brand in the event of system failures and negate this.
  • Act as a leader for vendor engagement (over 100 vendors)
 
What’s needed?
  • Experience working in a fast paced role.
  • Telecoms experience – you must have a high level understanding of how the technology fits together.
  • Experience working with and managing off-shore teams.
  • Ability to engage with clients, stakeholder and customers and developer relationships.
  • Educated to a Degree level or equivalent experience.
