HR Solution Architect – New growth initiatives

Location: Newbury


Role purpose: A core element of Vodafone’s HR strategy is to deliver world class HR processes through its global HR systems. The role of the HR Solution Architect is to contribute with technical knowledge and savvy to the build and the roll out of the HR solution supporting new growth initiatives.


The Solution Architect will be involved in the assessment of the initiative in order to evaluate how to best support the HR processes either with the product and application already available in house or by adding new legacy components. He will describe alternative scenarios with pros and cons and will recommend the most effective solution, considering technical and processes challenges.


The HR Solution Architect for major growth initiatives will manage the stakeholder and build the consensus around the solution. He/she will support each Project manager within the HR Programme Team to follow up in the project setup, will be responsible for approving functional and technical designs, will assess the effectiveness of the test scenarios and support any escalation or challenge during the implementation.



Key accountabilities:


  • Represent HR Systems towards Markets Steering members and System Integrators
  • Drive simplification and effectiveness for the HR Operations Systems within solutions through analyse and design phases
  • Clarify requirements in terms of system landscapes and usage (both on premise and cloud HR solutions)
  • Provide clarity, direction and support for integration landscape and data mapping in the space of the growth initiative.
  • Provide clarity, direction and support for all Data migration related to the growth initiative
  • Provide clarity, direction and support around all Testing for growth initiative
  • In coordination with Support teams, ensure smooth transition to BAU
    Key performance indicators:
  • System Architecture planning activities and project support; Plan, Analyse, Design, Test, Deploy, and transition to Support (Hypercare), together with Risks, Issues and mitigations
  • Provision of status updates to Project managers and other stakeholders to support IT Solution Design
  • Review & Approval of Functional and Technical design documentation
