Is this role for you?

We're looking for a talented and enthusiastic Digital Apps Development Lead to join our Mobile Apps team in London, bringing with you a broad range of experiences and a passion for modern development technologies and practices. As a Digital Apps Development Lead you'll lead our mobile apps engineering group, encompassing UX, Architecture, Development, Testing & Deployment, with the autonomy to drive agile, lean & devOps principles across your deliveries in your own way. Our My Vodafone App is currently used by millions of our customers, and is already the leading channel for customer engagement, but we have big plans for the future!

What you will be doing?

In this role you’ll be part of the Product Engineering Leadership team, reporting to the Head of Product Engineering and will lead and manage the development teams that build our My Vodafone app for Android and iOS devices, as well as our innovation teams leading our work on Amazon's Alexa and other exciting (and secret!) initiatives.
You’ll work closely with our Product Management team, who provide the direction and strategy for our Mobile Apps & innovations, and with other mobile-focused teams across the Vodafone Group, sharing our ideas and components with other teams.


What we're looking for?

•Building and leading a capable and empowered team of engineers across multiple disciplines with a shared, clear vision and a passionate drive to succeed.
•Overseeing the technical design, structure and direction of the products that you own.
•Embedding development Operating Models, valuing ownership, responsiveness, predictability and transparency.
•Ensuring we’re making best use of current mobile platform capabilities and that we’re prepared for what’s coming next.
•Managing significant budgets and capacity of your deliveries, including internal Capex/Opex and the management of supplier commercials. Ensuring users are at the heart of your process and deliveries, involving them along the way for rapid iteration & learning. Mentoring and executing Agile, Lean, and Continuous Delivery best practices, embedding DevOps behaviours and principles driving a model of continuous delivery.
•Establishing a lean delivery management governance model, and heartbeat of reviews and reporting to the Digital IT leadership.
