About the role

A new opportunity has arisen within our Fibre Services team in Networks. As a Networks Engineer within Fibre Services you will be responsible for the Fundamental and detail planning of the Vodafone Network Fibre Layer to support Customer Delivery, Core Project Build, Assure and Diversionary Works requirements.
As a Fibre Planner, your main responsibilities will include:
  • Liaising with Vodafone internal technical teams to facilitate Customer Feasibility process and provide timely responses via Desktop and Detailed costings
  • Validate Build Orders received and confirm deliverables and indicative timescales to account team
  • Allocate Fibres and confirm diversity requirements to partner design organisation, Instigating detailed, on site design and surveys
  • Review output, check fibre layer compliance, confirm received Costs/Deliverables to Account team for approval
  • Instruct partner organization to proceed with delivery
  • Update Vodafone Fibre Inventory Systems and Order Management Systems
  • Regular commentary and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • All tasks to be undertaken with agreed SLAs
  • As required undertake direct survey, design and works packages for onward issue
  • You will also be involved in planning for Diversionary works and Planned outages
  • As an experienced Fibre Planner, we are also looking for you to mentor and coach a junior engineer in the Fibre planning team.

As a Fibre Planner - Projects, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
  • Proven experience of Fibre Planning or similar role within a telecoms build environment.
  • Familiarity with databases and their use 
  • HNC or equivalent in an Engineering or Planning discipline
  • Full valid driving license
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office Packages (outlook, excel & word)
  • Proven understanding of civils construction practice and regulations (NRSWA)
  • Proven understanding of CDM & relevant H&S regulations
