About the role
As a member of the onsite Operations Network Support team you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of all aspects of customers’ network infrastructure, based at their site, alongside attending customer globally on a regular basis.
Your focus will be to restore service to customers as quickly as possible, by accurately diagnosing network and service faults, communicating directly with suppliers and customers on site and minimising delays due to handoffs with internal and external suppliers.
Essentially a support role, the core activities include customer liaison, diagnosis and resolution of faults, investigation into recurring issues, planning and implementing of change, and offering technical advice. You will require a proven record for troubleshooting with an excellent understanding Network principles and a strong understanding of the OSI Model.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to demonstrate good knowledge of networks – large scale LAN and WAN environments and IP routing
- Routing protocols
- Experience in diagnosing and investigating LAN and WAN faults
- Strong experience in telecommunications
- Previous experience of working in a real time operations network management environment to service level agreements
- Sound understanding of Remedy, data network topologies, MESH networks and principles
- Eligible for DV clearance
- Ability to travel regularly internationally and domestically.
