The Infotainment Team within Vodafone Group enables world-class services for Vodafone customers by executing strategic external partnerships and managing customer facing products that are launched across the Vodafone Operating Companies (markets/countries). The products span areas of Digital Discovery and Distribution, Digital Identity, Content Offers, Charging and Provisioning on all Vodafone consumer offerings – Mobile, Broadband, Fix and TV.


Vodafone Digital Identity is a key end-user service enabler supporting Consumer Products and Services across Vodafone Operating Companies enabling customers to securely and conveniently access apps and services. Itis also the consumer solution to use by partners to authenticate Vodafone customers and deliver value added service to them.


Vodafone Digital Identity drives uptake and usage of Vodafone Services. Vodafone Digital Identity also enables customer to use Vodafone Services beyond mobile networks (e.g. on fixed line) and aims to ease customer daily digital experience on third party services. Vodafone ID covers (i) authentication, (ii) access and (iii) account management via login mechanism, registration process through account and profile management. The Vodafone Digital Identity is designed to support the new standard in digital authentication Mobile Connect proposition, which aims to expose the Vodafone Digital Identity ID as a Service to third parties.


The Vodafone Digital Identity Product Owner works closely with Group and Local Services, OpCo teams and to bring the best Vodafone Digital Identity experience to end-users such as single sign-on, seamless WiFi, password – pin – finger print and biometrics (Face - Voice Recognition) authentications among other use cases ) multi-factor and contextual logins), across services. He/she should be comfortable leading cross-functional and international teams driving new product development for new releases and global expansion into regions to meet the strategy objectives and KPIs. The role-holder will ‘own’ (I.e. be held fully accountable for) all aspects of the end-to-end performance of the product across markets.


Within the Infotainment Team, the Digital Identity Product Owner is responsible for representing the voice of the customer and prioritising activities accordingly, and therefore maximising the customer and business value. As the voice of the customer, they understand their stakeholders’ needs and are the single point of contact for priority calls. The Digital Identity Product Owner must be able to clearly communicate requirements and engage with Scrum Masters, Kanban Leads, Business Analysts, Developers and UX/UI, following agile practices. Ensuring backlog is prioritised and maintained, attending regular refinement and planning sessions, and driving everyone in the team towards a common objective, will be key aspects of this role.  The Digital Identity Product Owner will also be responsible for the performance of the service, as well as actively engaging with the markets to promote the service, communicate new product features and drive adoption of the service. The Digital Identity Product Owner will also engage with industry bodies (GSMA) as required to both understand what other operators are doing and drive monetisation opportunities of the service in the industry.


The Vodafone Digital Identity Product Owner will particularly:

  • Lead and manage the product development process of Vodafone Group Identity Solution from Ideation to delivery and provide Vodafone with a new strategic asset to become a leading global digital identity provider in the Business to Business to Consumer ecosystem.
  • Build a word class customer identity experience from Authentication, Authorisation and Account Management embracing the next generation of login mechanisms (password less solution)
  • Work in an agile way, leading sprint development cycle,
  • Manage and maintain the Vodafone ID roadmap to ensure Vodafone delivers and achieves its vision of becoming a global identity provider.
  • Provide leadership and taken on the role as the group subject matter expert for digital mobile identity (Identity Management, GSMA Mobile Connect, Open ID Connect, OAuth, SIM based Authentication).
  • Advise and direct local markets on to ensure a common identity standard, knowledge sharing and best practices are adopted.
  • Build strong relationship with internal customers and external stakeholders (GSMA, MNO, Government, etc) to improve develop Digital Identity & Mobile Connect as a cross-operator initiative.
  • Have strong ability to adapt to changing business needs and able to work in agile environment with a corporate setting.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Build and maintain a Product Backlog, working with the delivery team and Scrum Master or Kanban Lead to provide clear acceptance criteria.
  • Own the Measurable Outcomes for the product and ensure backlog prioritisation aligns to them. Ensure measurements are taken.
  • Work with the Scrum Master or Kanban Lead to define a realistic product roadmap.
  • Work with stakeholders and the team to identify opportunities for improvement to the product.
  • Maintain a focus on quality, balancing the need for new features and addressing any technical debt or issues that have been uncovered.
  • Take an active role in the Agile community of practice, networking with other Product Owners and agile roles within the company.
  • Bridge the gap across teams from UX, Privacy, Operating Company, Services, Technology

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience working in a Technology product organization
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience working with people from multiple countries
  • An eye for detail to deliver best customer experience
  • Ability to explain a vision to cross-functional team
  • Ability to understand the value of efforts and confront  stakeholders when something is not achievable
  • Can work under pressure and multiple team as the product is used by millions of consumers
  • Experience working in or with a digital marketing function would be a plus

Key performance indicators:

  • Login methods / services and Operation Company service adoption
  • Successful end-user login/authentication rate

Technical / professional qualifications:

  • Evidence of experience in IT projects
  • Desirable: Recognised qualification from one of the established Scrum or Agile professional bodies (Scrum Alliance,, Lean Kanban University)
  • Desirable: Active in their local Agile community
  • A University degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Any project management qualification is a plus
