Job title: Data Scientist

Location: Newbury

 

Your Role

We are looking for a Data Scientist who is able to use big data and machine learning techniques, to create predictive and prescriptive models and algorithms, to solve real-world problems. You’ll be experienced in manipulating and analysing large (Petabyte scale) and complex structured and unstructured datasets, including streaming data feeds.


Key accountabilities

•  You’ll use a variety of structured and unstructured datasets to test hypotheses, discover hidden relationships and provide actionable insights to Vodafone’s businesses

•  Design, develop and tests machine learning models to industrialise predictive and prescriptive insight into our operations to solve real business problems

•  Using data visualisation to engage audience in a compelling way, enabling effective storytelling

•  Contributing and driving development across the global analytics community, ensuring advanced analytics is always evolving and at the cutting edge


Who are we looking for?

You’ll be experienced in visualisation, creating graphical static and interactive displays of multidimensional data sets that clearly communicate insight. 


Languages and Data Tools

•  Python

•  Structured - SQL

•  Unstructured – Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL

•  Scala, MapReduce, Mahout, Java, C++

•  Other tools/ frameworks – TensorFlow, MXNet, Tableau, Qlik, D3, Carto etc. 


You’ll have good interpersonal communication and presentation skills, this is a fast-paced environment across multinational functional teams.
