Customer Project Manager

Location: Manchester Atlas House (Full-time remote working during COVID-19) 
Hours: 37.5 Monday - Friday

What will you be doing?  


As a Customer Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering large complex projects for our Enterprise Business and Government Clients, either independently or as part of programme to time, cost and quality criteria.


You will create detailed; Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project plans, project initiation documents and RAID logs, encompassing all deliverables & ensuring stakeholder buy in. Proactively managing the plan on a day-to-day basis and create work packages for project team members.


Create and sustain collaborative working relationships across the customer and internal delivery teams. 


Provide day-to-day direction and guidance to the project team and manage any conflict arising between stakeholder groups.


You will be responsible for the control of project budgets, tracking and reporting of; forecast vs actual, CAPEX and OPEX budgets and managing key milestones through to the revenue realisation for Vodafone within the project lifecycle.


Establish and maintain the Risk and Issue register identifying new risks and response strategies. Implement mitigation where issues occur and control scope of the project through a formal Change Control process and approval board.


Complete all reporting requirements and governance in a timely manner following the Vodafone Project Delivery Lifecycle (VPDL) methodology based on the common project management frameworks.

Who are we looking for?   

  • Significant proven Project Management experience of managing large and complex projects for large and medium sized external customers
  • Prince 2 Practitioner or equivalent qualification 
  • Experience of successfully leading Cloud and Hosting projects is essential
  • Capable of being able to interpret commercial contracts, business cases and statement of works, to deliver the requirements and scope and maximise benefits
  • Self-motivated individual with great organisational, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Experience of managing budgets in the region of £250,000 +
  • Preferably a high-level working knowledge of fixed line telecommunication products and solutions
  • Eligible for SC clearance
