Consumer Mobile Business Partner Who you are:You are a strong standout colleague with a focus on delivering a first class service to our customers. In this role you will be a partner to the Consumer business divisions in relation to all mobile products and services, supporting them with analysis and advice. You will provide financial influence to commercial decision making and the target setting process. Your team:The Consumer & Commercial Operations Business Partnering team is a commercially focused partnering team acting as a co-pilot with the Business P&L owners to drive optimal performance. This role will work alongside the Consumer Fixed Business Partner, Commercial Operations BP and the Consumer Margin BP. The Team works closely with Business P&L owners, Marketing & Operations teams within Consumer & Commercial Operations and also with other Finance teams.The next challenge for you: End to end responsibility for Mobile Financials • Ownership of Consumer Mobile P&L • Monthly review of performance with explanation of variances and trends• Review with commercial business units to understand performance issues• Advice on corrective actions to ensure delivery• Responsible for overseeing both financial and non-financial numbers and KPIs in relation to Mobile performance Business Partnering • First point of contact for Consumer Segment Leads and Segment P&L Managers• Proactively provide commercial insights to Consumer Director, Head of Mobile Marketing, Segment Leads and Consumer and Finance Leadership Teams for effective decision making• Prepare, review and challenge business cases, financial appraisals and pricing reviews for new mobile products, propositions and promotions and handset pricing, ensuring adherence to the governance process• Carry out post investment reviews for mobile products, including full profitability analysis and prepare lessons learnt• Deputise for Consumer controller at sales and Consumer Leadership Team meetings and finance review meetings with CFO and reporting manager• Involvement in M&A assessments where required• Best practice sharing between Consumer and Enterprise, and involvement with Group and other OpCos to seek out best practice examples• Owner for all handset pricing decisions across Consumer Postpay and Prepay,working with the business to determine optimal RRPs in order to balance acquisition and retention volumes with level of investment needed• Develop and implement A&R efficiency model to ensure A&R budget is invested in         the most productive way• Ensure governance rules for pricing sign offs are adhered to• Work with the Consumer Business Unit on commission structures for all channels,        ensuring correct incentives are in place to drive the sale of higher value tariffs, with          appropriate handsets• Review of effectiveness of subsidies and promotions with business owners to        include post investment analysis Planning and Forecasting • Accurate and timely submission of Mobile Financial plans• Prepare revenue and direct cost forecasts and budgets by reference to product managers for each product and segment and challenge assumptions and ambition level to drive revenue and margin performance• Build bottoms up forecast for the annual budget with advice to business units and controllers on growth areas and where additional value can be realised• Full Exec engagement and support to segment Business Unit Director and Head of Mobile Marketing through review cycle• Working cross functionally to ensure the customer investment costs included in financial plans and forecasts are aligned with the organisations distribution strategy• Ensuring that there is sufficient granularity in planning and forecasting models to enable effective drill-down for further analysis by major product, channel and segment and handset Drive Mobile Profitability • Support the business in delivery of Mobile Budget contribution margin and EBITDA• Assessment of economic and financial consequences of decisions• Proactively advise business on areas to improve performance vs DB• Own and drive Consumer revenue and margin initiatives• Ensure Budget is linked to operational targets which are consistent across the business• Assessment of Vodafone’s position vs competitors Qualifications What you need:• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with 3+ years PQE• Previous Business Partnering Experience, Commercial Business Partnering preferential• Planning, forecasting and budgeting experience.• Previous financial modelling experience.• Excellent PC skills with proficiency in Excel front ends What else should you demonstrate:• Understanding of mobile telecoms market and revenue drivers• Working knowledge of SAP, Hyperion Enterprise and Essbase would be advantageous.
