Role Purpose

Risk & Compliance Manager 

Newbury, Baird House (Home working during Covid19)

 

To provide expert support for implementing, managing and monitoring a compliance programme for a multi-party international consortium project.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership :
  • Programme Implementation – design a compliance programme which addresses the contractual requirements of the project and which deploys extensive operational activities/checkpoints on an ongoing basis to mitigate Vodafone’s risk through demonstrating that ‘Adequate Procedures’ are both in place and are effectively exercised.    
  • Programme Management – Implement the programme liaising with the project Compliance Working Group (multi-party senior level stakeholders) and other companies’ compliance teams. The programme must meet the requirements of the Vodafone Global Policy Standards (including privacy, anti-bribery, AML, sanctions/trade controls, competition, business continuity and others as relevant).  Work closely with both stakeholders in Vodafone Business as well as with Group Plc compliance teams.   
  • Training and monitoring -   Carry out on going due diligence of all third parties appointed by Vodafone and train them in Vodafone’s standards, practices and processes to manage bribery and corruption risks.   Coordinate active monitoring of relevant transactions and record keeping of all parties connected with Vodafone in the project.
  • Operational activities:  Carry out desktop and physical audits on relevant 3rd parties and manage external audits of Vodafone in line with the contractual audit obligations.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience :
  • Technical knowledge: Proven experience in managing corporate compliance with the UK Bribery Act and/or FCPA regimes and familiarity with compliance/risk/audit frameworks to manage and mitigate risk. 
  • Communication: Good interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible: Possess a flexible approach to working with varied internal and external stakeholders. Prepared to travel internationally.
  • Organisational skills: Good organizational and planning skills. Ability to prioritise workload and manage deadlines.
  • Pro-active and motivated: Reliable, self-motivated and proactive.
Key performance indicators :
  • Stakeholder engagement level (evidenced by regular feedback from key stakeholders – internal and external)
  • Programme management – risk and compliance management  (evidenced by findings of the Compliance Working Group and external auditors of the project)
