Role purpose:
Work with the Principal Cloud Architect to define and deliver the Global Network Cloud Architecture and Roadmap, especially to enable deployment of 5G Stand Alone Core and OpenRAN, through the evaluation, recommendation, selection, design and delivery of Network Cloud platforms, in a cost effective, agile, supportable, operable and scalable manner.


Drive the advancement of Network Cloud platforms - especially Containers As A Service (CaaS) and Infrastucture as a Service (IaaS) – including Storage, Servers, Networking, Automation and Orchestration. Drive the relationship/dependencies with OSS and Network Functions.

Skills Required:
Should be qualified to technical degree standard, with additional appropriate professional qualifications

Knowledge of Cloud infrastructure and Automaton platforms, in a telco Network environment, including CaaS & IaaS platforms, Operating Systems, Core and Access Network Functions, Enterprise applications, OSS & Software delivery tools, Automation pipelines, Server & Storage infrastructure, Datacentre Networking
Effectively engages stakeholders to ensure a problem free introduction of key technologies and cloud based services.
Knowledge of Virtualised and Containerised Network Functions requiring Cloud, incl: 5G Core, EPC, IMS, OpenRAN, Fixed Access, etc
Enable complex decision processes with all stakeholders, working with the established governance processes, for primary (and in association with the Principal Architect for the secondary) technical specialisation.
Experience with business process & service analysis and change associated with migrating Network Functions and applications to cloud based service provisioning and consumption
Obtains stakeholder buy-in for service, systems and architectural design, in order to ensure that the architecture will be used/implemented by stakeholders
Pragmatic visionary who enjoys interacting with customers and partners to formulate business strategies and tactics which drive awareness, trial, adoption, and repeat usage. Should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and service definition and transformation challenges.
Strong influencing and negotiation skills required in order to drive challenging discussions with senior CTO level personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation.
