The Role
Global Cyber Security’s role is to inspire trust and confidence in our customers by enabling secure connectivity. Our purpose is to proactively protect Vodafone & its customers by reducing the risks posed by security threats to Vodafone’s global technology infrastructure and the sensitive data it holds.
In Cyber Prevent, the Delivery Managers take responsibility for the delivery of Vodafone wide change activities (Epics) prioritised by Cyber Prevent which aim to mitigate or enable mitigation of risk reduction. To deliver committed change activity they work with Cyber Prevent platform teams, vendors and other Vodafone teams, such as Group Technology teams (including Group Data Centre and Office IT), Group Cyber Security teams & globally dispersed local market Cyber Security teams. Their primary role is to plan, schedule and co-ordinate the work done by these teams to deliver the required outcome.
Agile Delivery Managers may also need to manage traditional waterfall projects from time to time, taking overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a variety of Cyber Prevent Projects. Key responsibilities include creating clear and attainable project objectives, building the project requirements, and managing the constraints of cost, time, scope and quality, whilst meeting (and where possible exceeding) the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders. They must provide continuity at a project level in terms of direction and leadership, from capture of requirements through to final implementation, and ensure that the outcomes are delivered on time and on budget.
Agile Delivery Managers may also need to act as a Scrum Master to Cyber Prevent platform teams. Within the platform team, the Scrum Master is a servant leader and coach for a platform team. They help educate the team in SAFe and ensure that the agreed Agile process is being followed. They also help remove impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.
Agile Delivery Managers will be required to operate effectively in a complex, dynamic, and constantly changing environment. Active & compelling engagement of teams and internal and external to Vodafone stakeholders will be crucial in creating the momentum required. The Delivery Manager role will require effective communicators and collaborators.
