3rd Line CORE IP Engineer
Location: UK (Full-time remote working during COVID-19)

The Role

Role purpose:
Operating within the Vodafone Assure and Operate models, the main focus of this role is to:
Provide the 3rd Line support required to resolve complex faults, & support complex provide & change issues, on a core business hours and 24/7 support basis.
Contribute to the GNO, & wider business, objectives to improve: fault management performance, Service reliability & Service performance
Provide Infrastructure delivery and implementations to meet customer and platform requirements.
This is a real-time operational role providing a ‘Centre of excellence’ for supporting complex multi-technology solutions, in addition to a providing a comprehensive knowledge of specific technologies

Skills Required:
Experience in an appropriate Telecommunications role
Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods, managing multiple goals and priorities.
Ability to remain calm when working to demanding timescales and deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Experience  of Incident, Problem and Change Management Processes
SD WAN (configuration, implementation and trouble-shooting)
Thorough understanding of IP/MPLS networks/services in a Service Provider/ISP environment.
Deep experience of working with [2 from 3] Cisco, Nokia and Juniper network routing and switching devices.
Sound understanding of routing protocols (in particular BGP and IS-IS) and switching principles, QoS and MPLS.
CCNP (SP/JNCIP-SP, or equivalent experience)
A clear and analytical approach to problem solving.
Network function virtualisation exposure.

Whilst not essential, a good appreciation of scripting, or programming  would be a distinct advantage.
