The world of work is changing, with a blend of home and office-based working with bases for our people across two mains sites, our Vodafone Campus at Newbury HQ and our brand new Digital Hub, the Speechmark  in Southwark. From here, our Digital Engineering teams work to create some amazing experiences for our customers online, as well as building products used across our business internally.

The areas that shape Digital Engineering

Web Engineering 

Our primary responsibility is to develop and support our front-end web applications: ensuring that they are operational, performant and of the highest quality. We are passionate about pushing boundaries and our developers are enthusiastic, highly driven and user focused. 

You'll have the opportunity to use some of latest front-end technologies such as React and Node in creating the design & functionality of key projects, spanning all of the Vodafone web domains & platforms. 

Platform Engineering 

Our "Digital eXperience Layer” is at the heart of our Platform Engineering team. We allow our digital channels to quickly build new and improved applications based on secure, reliable and scalable services, on a cloud-based micro-services architecture. 

Our engineering teams are empowered to focus not just on what we deliver, but how we deliver world class software that we can all be proud of.

Systems Engineering

This team is responsible for ensuring the availability and strong performance of our application portfolio, toolset as well as helping to drive improvements and enhancements.  

We're leading the way across Vodafone in transforming the way we build and ship our solutions, and the SRE team are key players in that transformation. They assure our performance and availability, and because of them our delivery teams and customers always have an exceptional experience.

Digital Architecture

Responsible for owning and shaping the architecture strategy and roadmap for Vodafone Digital. Our Digital Architects lead the technology strategy and principles across platforms such as our Apps, Shop, VOXI, Chatbots and Voice Assistants.

This team is proudly accountable for all digital platform evolutions in Vodafone UK, adopting new technology where it adds value to our platforms, such as moving to serverless technology and cloud native solutions.

Digital Portfolio

Managing end-to-end project delivery utilising lean programme governance and modern engineering technologies and practices is just some of what this Portfolio team does.

They are accountable for developing and leading high-performing, multi-discipline teams, instilling in them a clear vision and passion to drive success. Agile, Lean, and Continuous Delivery best practices, embedding DevOps behaviours and principles driving a model of continuous delivery.

Digital Applications 

Our team leads our mobile apps engineering group, encompassing UX, Architecture, Development, testing & Deployment. We bring autonomy to drive agile, lean and devOps principles across our deliveries in order to build great products that delight our customers and transform the way they engage with us. 

Our My Vodafone App is currently used by millions of our customers, and is already the leading channel for customer engagement, but we have big plans for the future.
