Even though it’s only my third day in the office, already I have been made to feel part of the Vodafone family.

Hi everyone, I’m Elli!
This is my first week at Vodafone and I’m on the Commercial Graduate Scheme!
Before the scheme, I studied Geography at The University of Glasgow. I realised pretty early on during university that I didn’t want to pursue a career directly related to Geography, hence why I decided to look for a graduate scheme that allowed me to rotate in different business areas and gain some commercial experience – Vodafone fitting that bill perfectly.
The application process was pretty smooth and quick in comparison to other schemes I had applied for. You can expect an initial application form, followed by online tests, a video interview and if successful after those rounds, you are invited to an assessment centre that lasts half a day. I had a morning assessment centre and it consisted of a group exercise, a presentation to an assessor and finally a one to one interview. The group exercise was actually quite enjoyable – you are given some information to read, and then as a group you are asked to discuss this information. The presentation was a little more daunting, although the assessor makes you at ease! Again you are given some information to filter through and then have to answer some pre-set questions but in a presentation style. The final interview was my favourite part of the morning! It was much more like a discussion rather than an interrogation, so just be yourself and answer the questions as honestly as you can!
After being successful at the assessment centre, I was placed in the Brand team for my first placement at Vodafone. Your first placement will last for six months and I have been told I can expect to be working on upcoming global advertising campaigns…. super exciting!
The telecoms industry is very fast paced with a lot of change, but despite this, there is a very relaxed and flexible working environment at Vodafone; something I hadn’t experienced during internships at previous employers and even though it’s only my third day in the office, already I have been made to feel part of the Vodafone family.
