Having joined Vodafone on the HR Graduate programme a few years ago, I know the value in developing our future talent and how important it is to the business to bring in youth with fresh perspectives and leadership capabilities. That’s why I love working in the Future Talent team, and have recently made the transition to become UK Apprentice programme manager.
Apprenticeships are becoming more and more popular, with participation currently standing at a record level. There were 491,300 apprenticeship starts in the 2016-2017 academic year. Despite the impressive figures, I believe there is more work to be done in promoting what amazing opportunities these are.
We offer a range of apprentices ranging from: customer service, field engineering, networks, cyber security and data. These range from level 2 through the degree level 6 apprenticeships.
The interview process was simple; starting with a video interview then moving to a face-to-face meeting or assessment centre.
Vodafone is a great place to work and kick start your career, from day one you will be treated the same way any other member of staff and will be doing meaningful and exciting work from the get go. When you start, you will be assigned a mentor who’s there to help show you around and offer any support you might need. You will also be working with industry experts who can impart all of their knowledge as well as the learning provided through one of our education partners.
I would definitely recommend exploring Vodafone to anyone who’s looking to take their first steps into the workplace. It’s a great place for apprenticeships and a fantastic environment to grow and progress.
