Vodafone is a British multinational company, with our headquarters based in Newbury, England. Founded in the 1982, Vodafone UK network proudly launched in 1985 by making the very first mobile call on a UK network from Parliament square to Surrey.

By December 1992 Vodafone sent the world’s first ever SMS text message, which read ‘Merry Christmas’ and since then Vodafone have become one of the world’s leading technology communication companies with many firsts in our history to date.

The UK market has 12,000 employees, who support our 18 million customers and 625+ million customers globally to connect for a better future.
